Forestar Minerals LLC
We own oil and gas mineral interests in approximately 620,000 net acres located pricipally in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia. Our minerals revenue is comprised of lease bonus payments, delay rentals, oil and gas royalty interests, non-operating working interests and other related activities. We engage in leasing these oil and gas mineral interests to third parties for the exploration and production of oil and gas.
Of our 620,000 net acres of oil and gas mineral interests, about 509,000 net acres are available for lease. We have about 82,000 net acres leased for exploration and development activities, and about 29,000 net acres held by production from over 479 oil and gas wells that are owned and operated by others.

Texas and Louisiana Minerals
Forestar owns about 253,000 net mineral acres in Texas and about 144,000 net mineral acres in Southern Louisiana. We currently have about 153,000 net mineral acres available for lease in Texas and about 135,000 net mineral acres available for Lease in Louisiana. We lease our mineral interest to third parties for exploration and production of Oil and Gas.
Alabama and Georgia Minerals
Forestar owns about 42,000 net mineral acres in Alabama and 179,000 net mineral acres in Georgia. We currently have about 2,000 acres under lease in Northeastern Alabama. Alabama and Georgia net acres are calculated as the gross number of surface acres multiplied by our estimated percentage ownership of the mineral interest based on county sampling.

Gulf Coast Basin
We own about 252,000 net mineral acres in East Texas and about 144,000 net mineral acres in Southern Louisiana located within the onshore Louisiana portion of the Gulf Coast Basin. These basins contain numerous oil and gas producing formations consisting of conventional, unconventional, and tight sand reservoirs. Of these reservoirs, we own mineral interests in and around production trends in the Wilcox, Frio, James Lime, Pettit, Travis Peak, Cotton Valley, Austin Chalk, Haynesville Shale, and Bossier formations.
Fort Worth Basin
Through a venture, we have an interest in about 1,000 net mineral acres in the Fort Worth Basin. This basin contains numerous oil and gas producing formations consisting of conventional, unconventional, and tight sand reservoirs. Of these reservoirs, this venture owns mineral interests in and around the Barnett Shale.
Alabama and Georgia
We own about 42,000 net mineral acres in Alabama and 179,000 net mineral acres in Georgia. These areas have historically had minimal oil and gas exploration activity. However, there has been recent activity in the Floyd Chattanooga and Conasauga Shales in and around our mineral interests and we currently have about 2,000 acres under lease in Northeastern Alabama.
